18th century and later, the carved elements attributed to Grinling Gibbons (1648-1721), depicting naturalistic fruit and leaves with swags of twigs and flora, likely removed from the paneling of a room, the framing of later construction.

Provenance: The Estate of The Honorable Lloyd & Beryl Ann Bentsen.

Literature: Similar carving examples can be found in Grinling Gibbons and the Art of Carving, by David Esterly, published by H. N. Abrams, Inc., New York, 1998.
