Fine English Banded Satinwood and Marquetry Vanity Box, fourth quarter 19th century, in the style of Thomas Sheraton, the interior of the lid fitted with a satinwood-framed looking glass flanked by a pair of stylized seashell-inlaid panels, the base fitted with a multi compartmented tray having at its center a bone-handled glove hook, a matching nail file, a rasp en suite and a bone glove stretcher, the central lift-out tray revealing a pair of jewel drawers en face, retaining the diminutive period steel key, l. 16", w. 10-1/2".
