  • Condition: **A fine set in good condition, with no issues noted beyond the expected surface wear commensurate with age and use. Steel (non-stainless) knife blades show some spotting and scattered nicks. Each piece marked with the French first standard silver "Mercury's head" export mark and the "EP" and pen-knife maker's mark of Maison Puiforcat. The case has some scuffs and veneer repairs (including rosewood veneer replacing the original brass escutcheon on the lid), and some of the drawer supports are loose and need to be reaffixed to the corresponding grooves in the interior sides. Lining worn and slightly discolored. In all, a very attractive, complete set with minor signs of age.
