first quarter 19th century, possibly Russian, the black marble top over a cyma-molded frieze, the case with a pair of cupboard doors, each flanked and separated by pilasters with gilt foliate-carved bases and lotus-carved capitals, each door panel now with pleated sunburst bronze silk.

  • Condition: **In overall very good condition. The marble top is fine. The sides of the case exhibit minor vertical shrinkage along the seams of the two boards. Some flaking to the gesso of the gilded elements. Retains a very pleasing finish and patina. There is a working key present.
