late 19th/early 20th century, including:
a Continental walking stick with steel pommel-handle fitted with a spring-loaded spike, with a snakeskin-covered shaft and steel ferrule, l. 35-3/8";
an American walking stick with patinated spelter pommel handle with inset compass, beech shaft and steel tip, l. 37";
a Continental walking stick with caricature-carved antler handle, with sterling silver cap, and collar, unscrewing to reveal a steel and rosewood orange knife, with "blackthorn"-carved shaft and applied silver cartouche monogrammed "CR", and antler ferrule, l. 37-1/4";
a French walking stick with white metal harmonica handle, beech shaft and horn ferrule, l. 35"; and
an English walking stick with sterling silver watch case pommel handle hallmarked Chester, 1872-1873, by Thomas R. Russell, fitted with a scenic painted porcelain dial key-wind watch, attached with a silverplate connector to a later silver collar hallmarked Birmingham, 1908-1909, by J. Howell & Co., with engraved inscription "Dr. J. T. Williams / from F.R.C. / Ambulance First Class/ Barrow Center / 15 Apr 1909", with ebonized shaft and brass ferrule, l. 35".
