Five-Piece Chinese Export Famille Noire Porcelain Garnitures

probably second half 19th century, comprised of two beaker-form vases, h. 11-1/4", dia. 5-1/2", and three covered ginger jars, h. 15", dia. 5-1/4", all decorated with gilt scrolled borders, and vases of prunus, vases of flowers on low tables, and pots of Bonsai, with an underglaze blue concentric ring mark.

  • Condition: **Though no overt repairs were detected by sight or touch, repairs are probable as all five pieces exhibit apparent overglazing and regilding. Glaze, manufacturing and firing faults are found throughout, particularly visible to the foot of each. Additional photographs are recommended of covers and feet. Ginger jar heights with the covers on are not the same - they vary from 15" to 15-1/4".

NOTE: The garnitures are likely from the second half of the 19th century, not ca. 1700 as stated in the catalogue description.
