Four-Piece American Renaissance Revival Walnut Parlor Suite

third quarter 19th century, commonly attributed to John Jelliff or M. & H. Schrenkeisen, consisting of a triple-back settee, h. 43", w. 74", d. 28", an armchair, h. 44-1/2", w. 29", d. 25", and two lady's bustle chairs, each carved with female portrait busts, h. 40-1/2", w. 23", d. 21".

  • Condition: **In overall good condition, with an old, probably original, finish that has been cleaned. It exhibits some scrubs, dings to perimeter edges and wear. The finish on the back of the armchair and sofa is quite thin.

All pieces are sturdy and functional.

There are some chips/losses to the widest turning on the trumpet leg of one armchair and two of the sofa legs.

The upholstery exhibits moderate wear, but no rips or tears and no notable stains. The seat on the sofa has lost its shape along its front edge.
