Four Pieces of American Silver Deposit Colored Glassware

first quarter 20th century, Providence, Rhode Island, including:
Gorham Model D1135, a R. L. Rose & Co. brown glass cylindrical bourbon bottle decorated with corn stalks and cobs, monogrammed "MCH", h. 11-5/8", dia. 3-3/4";
an unmarked cobalt glass spherical base trumpet vase decorated with foliate scrolls, h. 6-1/4", dia. 3";
Alvin Model G V667-7 green glass ovoid vase decorated with apple blossoms, monogrammed "M", h. 12-1/8", dia. 4-1/4"; and
Alvin Model G 3248 green glass baluster-form vase decorated with foliate scrolls, h. 7-1/4", dia. 5-1/4".

Provenance: Estate of Dr. William Rosenbaum, New Orleans, Louisiana.

  • Condition: **A very nice set. The Alvin G3248 has a 3/4" segment of missing silver at the widest part of the body, the frosted outline of which is visible, with one edge of the remaining edge slightly lifted. Otherwise, all pieces are in excellent condition, with no lifting or losses to the silver, no cracks, chips or breaks to the glass, and no appreciable wear beyond the expected signs of age. The Gorham bottle stopper has a very short cork (possibly reduced) and does not fit snugly.
