Franz Bergman Cold-Painted Vienna Bronze Inkwell fourth quarter 19th century, modeled as an elephant climbing a draped stepped platform, a young mahout atop the hinged head with the trunk grasping the inkwell finial, the inkwell base with a frieze of seated Indian deities and marked on one lower side with a "B" within an urn and "Namgreb", the elephant's body stuffed with horse or elephant hair, h. 6-1/2", w. 6-1/8", d. 4-5/8".
