French Belle Epoque Gilt-Bronze Centerpiece

fourth quarter 19th century, the oval bowl pierced with bellflowers and scrollwork, and mounted with scrolled handles terminating in Psyche heads, framed with sprays of leaves and berries, the pierced base resting on cabriole legs set with paw feet, with a removable copper liner.

  • Condition: **In overall good condition. One handle is lacking a screw and is loose; one of the garland pegs is lacking on the same handle. Garlands exhibit two minor soldered "touch-ups" to mounts. The inside of the copper liner has notable accretions and oxidation. Bronze elements exhibit very light wear to patina, accretions and oxidation - all of which are to be expected with age, material and use.
