French Belle Epoque Silver and Glass Claret Jug

ca. 1900, Paris, by Paul Bouton & Cie (fl. 1896-1904), the inverted pear-shaped glass body cut with spiral grooves and flutes, clad in a first standard (.950) silver collar, handle, hinged spout and base, all decorated with elaborate rococo scrolls.
h. 13-1/4", l. 6-1/4", dia. 4-1/4"


  • Condition: **Some dents and losses to the silver, including a dent misshaping the spout and on the foot (leveled by a 1/4" felt pad), and two losses to the silver scrolls on the shoulder, one 3/4" long, the other 3/8" long. No cracks or chips on the glass.
