French Bronze Urn in the Neo-Grec Style, second quarter 19th century, Barbedienne Foundry, Paris, designed by Henry Cahieux and marked by both him and Barbedienne, the decoration depicting two couples in classical dress, separated by molded anthemia, the slender neck mounted with handles terminating in molded masques, raised on a red griotte marble base, now mounted as a lamp, urn, h. 24", w. 7", d. 7", overall, h. 40". This model was exhibited by Barbedienne at the 1855 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
