French First Empire Bronze Dore Mantel Clock, ca. 1800, featuring a child dressed in a classical robe and reading a book, above a base decorated with a pair of figures reading, flanking a globe, the dial signed by the retailer or possibly the case bronzier, Raol a Lyon, set with later works, h. 12-1/2", w. 9-3/4", d. 3-1/2".

  • Condition: The case is in excellent condition. Retains a very good gilded surface and great detail to the casting. The movement appears to be a replacement as there are two portholes for winding in the face; but the clock movement has a built-in winding key on the backside.
