French Gilt-Bronze Mantel Clock in the Louis XV Style, fourth quarter 19th century, the lower portion of the case almost entirely composed of pierced scroll and rocaille work, a putto playing a flute and a cupid flank the standard holding the works, the crest decorated with sprays of flowers and an urn finial, the works marked by the retailer, G. Philippe, Palais Royale, h. 20", w. 22", d. 6-3/4".
- Condition: There are chips to the porcelain dial around the winding holes, as well as some flaking near the IX chapter. No evidence of damage or repairs to the bronze case. Good overall surface with a mild patina. We are uncertain as to its running condition. Pendulum is present, lacking a winding key.
