French Painted Wooden Panel in the Directoire Style

first quarter 20th century, decorated with delicate arabesques, cherubs supporting swags of flowers, and urns, on a white ground, inspired by the designs of Percier et Fontaine.

  • Condition: **In overall good condition. There is some inpainting to the lower left edge and some probable scattered inpainted "re-touching" throughout. The panel has light convex warping and exhibits two parallel shrinkage cracks on the left side. There are some small losses along the edges. Minor nicks, scratches and surface soiling are also present. The panel was not examined under black light or removed from the gallery wall.
