second quarter 19th century, mounted with a figure of Orpheus, the Greek god of music, playing his lyre, a bust of Athena mounted on the right, the case base with mounts of a swan with musical instruments, flanked by arrows bound with bowknots, the silk-string suspension movement mounted with an enamel dial marked "Souriau, Rue Faydeau No. 20, Pres La Bourse".

Notes: Clock states "Souriau" "Rue Faydeau" "No. 20" "Pres La Bourse" - Pres La Bourse means "near the stock exchange"; it is still located on Rue Faydeau at this time in Paris.

  • Condition: **In overall beautiful condition. There are some small chips to the porcelain dial around the winding port holes. Retains a good gilded surface. No evidence of damage or missing parts. Winding key and pendulum present.
    We are unsure of its running condition.
