French Silver Gilt Dessert Set

ca. 1900, Paris, by Maison Purforcat, first standard (.950) silver, including a dozen each dessert forks, knives and spoons (one fork lacking), in a "king's" shape pattern decorated with shells, acanthus and ribbons, no monograms, presented in an associated red velvet-lined black leather case (no knife but extra spoon and fork slots) with gilt retailer's stamp of F. Delaye, Grenoble, and monogrammed "TT", 2" x 12" x 8-1/4"

  • Condition: In overall very good condition. The knives have silver "New-French" shaped blades and filled silver handles, some with minor bumps and dings, but all blades are sound and well-seated.. The case is not original and designed to hold 36 forks; interior good, some scuffs and tears on the exterior.
