French Silver Tea Caddy

first quarter 20th century, by Auguste Leroy, Paris, active 1891-1912, first standard (.950) silver, of "turtleback" form, with reeded banding and molded, hinged lid, raised on four button feet, the interior gilt.
h. 3-1/2", l. 5-1/4", w. 4"; 14.72 t. oz.


  • Condition: **A couple of nicks and scuffs on the body, but in generally good condition with nice, mellow patina. The interior gilding is worn away on the body and mellowed on the lid. Body and lid both marked with the French first standard "Minerva" head and Leroy lozenge mark.
