Notes: Already an accomplished landscape painter, the British-born George Castleden moved to New Orleans by 1920. Seven of Castleden's paintings were shaped to fit the transoms and niches of D. H. Holmes's Potpourri Restaurant and are now in the collection of the Louisiana State Museum.
