George III Black Coromandel Lacquer Commode

18th century, with serpentine front and three long drawers, the sides with giltwood canted corners and serpentine edges with the lines continuing down the splayed feet up through the skirt, with a conforming floral-banded black lacquer top.

  • Condition: **Beautiful lot in overall good condition.
    The associated lacquered top with negligible shrinkage, a 1/4" x 1" loss to the molded edge at one front corner and scattered small scrapes/dings along the serpentine front edge.
    Retains rich, clear coromandel scenes all masterfully incorporated into the case frame.
    The serpentine gold edges down the front sides with a scuff at one side and small scrape at the other side.
    Side panels with assorted coromandel symbols, vessels, a crab and bonsai.
