George III Burl Walnut Tall Case Clock

fourth quarter 18th century, the hood with a blind fretwork frieze above an arched door, the brass face engraved "Robert Clarke, London", the movement with a time, strike and calendar dial, raised on a molded plinth base.

  • Provenance: The Collection of the Late Dr. E. Ralph Lupin, New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • Condition: **In good restored condition. Scattered minor old repairs to the case. A few small pieces of moldings replaced to the hood. Scattered shrinkage throughout to the veneer and moldings. Some small chips to the corner edges. Very pleasing color and patina to the wood. The movement appears to be original to the case. The clock strikes a bell on the hour. Winding key, two weights, pendulum and door key present.
