George III Mahogany Sideboard, fourth quarter 18th century, the banded D-form top with a projecting center section, above a conforming case fitted with a compartmented central cutlery drawer, flanked to one side by a cupboard and to the other by a deep drawer, both banded and inlaid with oval panels, raised on tapering square legs ending in spade feet, h. 37", w. 72-1/2", d. 27-1/2".


  • Condition: In very good structural condition and finish. Minor splitting and buckling on the crossbanding on top, commensurate with age. Minor scattered rubbing and scuff marks to the edges of the legs, top and drawers. One minor veneer loss on the rail above the right-hand drawer. Brasses are likely original. Center and left drawer fitted to hold flatware with later dividers and felt liners.
