George III Oak and Mahogany Banded Mule Chest, early 19th century, with a lift lid opening to a void cavity, the front fitted with two rows of faux drawers over a row of three drawers, over a single long drawer in the form of three drawers, h. 38-1/2", w. 62", d. 22".


  • Condition: In "as found" condition. The top has some shrinkage to the lift lid along the seam where two boards are joined. Light stains and surface scuffs from age and use. Additional shrinkage cracks and separation to the inset side panels. The interior shelf boards that separate the well from the lower drawers are later replacements. Some old chips to the side edges of the lift lid. The bail handles are missing. Good color and overall patina to the surface.
