George III Oak Chest, fourth quarter 18th century, the rectangular top with a molded edge, above a conforming case fitted with two short drawers over three graduated long drawers, raised on bracket feet, h. 35", w. 39-1/4", d. 20-1/2". Provenance: The Estate of Hugh Curtiss and Charlene Weaver, Hattiesburg, Mississippi.


  • Condition: Shrinkage cracks on top and sides of case. Various scratches, nicks and abrasions throughout, from age and use. Shadows of earlier hardware. Drawers move freely. The chest is sturdy and ready for use.
