George III Sterling Silver Salver hallmarked London, 1786-1787, by John Crouch and Thomas Hannam (fl. ca. 1779-1799), of circular form, with beaded rim and three spatulate feet, the plateau engraved with a wide oak leaf and acorn band centering the leafy-mantled arms of Blachford impaling another (sable, a chevron engrailed or between three horse's heads argent), dia. 16", 59.13 t. oz.


  • Condition: Overall Condition: Very Good. Light surface wear, but otherwise fine with no condition issues noted. Excellent engraving, probably a 19th century addition. Hallmarked (on the underside) with: 1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London crowned leopard's head; 3) the date letter "l" for 1786-1787; 4) the George III bust duty mark; and 5) the "IC/TH" maker's mark of Crouch & Hannam. Marks excellent.
