  • Condition: Overall Condition: Good. Scattered surface scuffs, scrapes and pips consistent with age, but otherwise quite nice, with no dents, breaks or repairs noted. With later inscription: "To Benjamin Thomas in testimony of Goodwill from a few Residents of the Tavistock Hotel 1885". Hallmarked (on the body, at the upper edge near the handle) with: 1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London crowned leopard's head; 3) the date letter "h" for 1783-1784; and 4) two maker's marks, one over-striking the other as noted. The marks are somewhat rubbed but fully legible, with the exception of the maker's mark(s), the only unambiguous letter of which is the first letter of the second strike: "R".
