George III-Style Mahogany Settee, 19th century, the triple-domed back with floral crests and pierced splats, and joined to the padded seat by shaped arms, raised on cabriole legs headed by acanthine carving and ending in ball-and-claw feet, h. 38-1/2", w. 74", d. 22".


  • Condition: Unknown maker. Structurally sound with good, intact finish. The upholstery is clean and tight with losses to cover under the seat. There is a professionally restored section at crest on the top right. The crest rail has been repaired (glued with some areas of stained filler) where it joins the stiles of the settee back. The far left and far right stiles have also been repaired. The latter also has two small filled areas just above the arm rail. Small, light shrinkage cracks are present at the tops of piercing on the splats. Seat depth 21".
