  • Provenance: Notes: Throughout his career as an artist, George "Pop" Hart traveled extensively creating drawings, paintings and prints of locales including London, Paris, Chicago, Cuba, Mexico, and New Orleans. During his travels he grew a beard which inspired the nickname "Pop" or "Pops." Watercolors, which are easy to transport, became his favored medium and he developed a loose, colorful, and vigorous style. In New Orleans, Hart joined the bohemian community of artists, writers and photographers that made up the French Quarter Renaissance.
