Notes: Known for his farm animal paintings set within the landscape, George Riecke was an active member of the thriving New Orleans art community from 1887 to 1902, and a member of the Artists' Association of New Orleans. In 1900, he exhibited his work at the National Academy of Design, New York.


  • Condition: **Surface soiling, scattered craquelure, rubbing to the right edge. Small areas of inpainting to upper right corner; inpainting touch-ups to water, bottom of cattle feet, around the backside of cow on the left and a few touch-ups to the foliage.
    Frame with marks, nicks and abrasions.
