Gilt-Bronze and Malachite Inkwell and Candlesticks

fourth quarter 19th century, in the rococo style, all three pieces engraved with scrollwork, the inkwell resting on scrolled feet, the cove-molded base supporting the pagoda-form inkpot, a tiny putto sitting in the front and a pierced scrollwork pen holder in the back, with malachite cabochons set in the cover and around the base, the inkpot with a crystal liner, probably original, with a bezel matching the exterior, h. 3-1/2", w. 4", d. 4-1/2", the tapersticks with notched bases set with malachite cabochons and tapered standards set with candle cups, h. 3-3/4", dia. 2-3/4".


  • Condition: **Tiny nick to the malachite cabochon on inkwell lid. Light wear to gilded patination to candlestick bases and bobeche edges. In overall very good condition. Losses to weighted base beneath inkwell stand.
