Good George IV Irish Sterling Silver Salver, hallmarked Dublin, 1822, by William Nolan, retailed by Jacob West, of circular form, with rococo-scroll rim, the plateau flat-chased with a broad band of fruit and flowers quartered by classical masques, raised on four scroll-crested paw feet, the central cartouche engraved with the arms of Denny of Tralee Castle, co. Kerry, dia. 14", 44.56 t. oz.


  • Condition: Overall Condition: Good. One foot is bent slightly inward, but otherwise no condition issues noted beyond the expected surface wear consistent with age and use. Attractive, detailed chasing and engraving. Hallmarked (on the underside) with 1) the sterling crowned harp; 2) the Dublin seated Hibernia; 3) the George IV bust duty mark; 4) the date letter "B" for 1822; the "WN" maker's mark of William Nolan; and 5) the "WEST" retailer's mark of Jacob West. Marks very good: clean, crisp and fully legible.
