Good George IV Sterling Silver Sauceboat

hallmarked London, 1827-1828, by Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard I, the nautilus-form boat fluted and with scrolling crest and molded rim, with acanthus-crested and -mounted scroll handle and raised on a domed "Chippendale" foot, engraved with the crest of Beaumont, Love et al.; together with a Victorian sterling silver "Onslow" sauce ladle, hallmarked London, 1875-1876, by Charles Stuart Harris, with coquille bowl.

  • Condition: **Both pieces in good condition with the expected surface wear consistent with age and use, but no dents, breaks or repairs. The boat stamped with period retailer's mark on the underside "Lewis / London". Both pieces fully hallmarked, the boat on the side, the ladle on the stem. Marks nice and clean but for the maker's mark on the ladle which is partially rubbed. A handsome and well-matched set.
