Grand Seven-Piece Reed & Barton "Francis I" Sterling Silver Coffee and Tea Set

the pattern designed in 1907 by Ernest Meyers, Taunton, Massachusetts, this set with date-marks 1952-1955, including a kettle-on-stand, h. 13-1/2", l. 10-1/4", a coffeepot, h. 10-3/4", l. 10-1/4", a teapot, h. 8-1/4", l. 10-1/2", a covered sugar bowl, h. 6-1/2", w. 8", a cream jug, h. 5-3/4", l. 5-3/4", a waste bowl, h. 4-1/4", w. 5-1/4", and a tray, 31" x 22-1/4", no monograms.

  • Condition: **In overall very good condition. No dents or repairs noted. Minor wear commensurate with use. No monograms or removals. The lower insulator retaining pin of the coffeepot is lacking, and the handle has some wiggle. Light scuffs on the surface of the tray. Each piece stamped on the underside "Reed & Barton / Sterling / 570 A / Francis I" (the coffeepot with model number "571A", the tray with model number "752A" and additionally stamped "Hand Chased"). Each piece also with the Reed & Barton date mark "elephant" for 1952 (tray), "hourglass" for 1953 (waste bowl, cream jug & teapot), "mortar & pestle" for 1954 (sugar bowl & coffeepot) or "chamberstick" for 1955 (kettle-on-stand). A very fine set.
