Grand Tour Souvenir of Trajan's Column
fourth quarter 19th century, Paris, composed of bronze and nearly identical to the Roman original, but with Napoleonic eagles around the base and a figure of Napoleon on the top, on a marble base.

Condition: **In overall good condition. Bronze exhibits minor accretions and oxidation, and there are some small losses to marble base corners and edges. Condition is as to be expected with age and use. NOTE: the back of the column is a weather thermometer with Celsius and Fahrenheit increments. The thermometer is lacking its glass tube.
