    Harmony Hammond is an artist, feminist, and writer. A co-founder of Artists in Residence (AIR), the first woman run cooperative art gallery in New York which opened in 1972, and a lead editor of the influential Heresies Collection (along with Pat Steir and Lucy Lippard) which was published from 1976 to 1993, she has explored the concept of feminism and inclusive spaces throughout her career. Refusing to be constrained by any artistic or art historical convention, Hammond experiments with materials and techniques.

    Her works are in numerous public collections, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and the New Mexico Museum of Art.
