Important Chinese Rosewood and Mother-of-Pearl-Inlaid Tilt-Top Table, early 19th century, the top, pedestal and legs profusely inlaid with flowers, people, birds and seal characters, h. 28", dia. 33". This table is illustrated in Erich Bruggemann's, Kunst und Technik der Intarsien" (Art and Technique of Inlay Works), Munich, 1988, pp. 134-135.


  • Condition: Inlay in near mint condition with no missing pieces. Structurally intact and strong; the finish in good condition. The top has several shrinkage cracks with added battens on the back for stability and one butterfly repair. Block is old, but was rebuilt, possibly from another table.
