Impressive Louis XV Boullework Bracket Clock, third quarter 18th century, on a flaring shelf decorated with brass flowers and scrollwork inlaid into tortoiseshell, trimmed with gilt-bronze scrollwork, the serpentine clock case with like decoration, resting on cabriole legs, the door decorated with a pair of nesting birds within a frame of rocaille work, the enamel segmented dial under the pierced bronze finial, composed of scrollwork and flowers, h. 50", w. 20-3/4", d. 10".


  • Condition: The clock and bracket in overall nice condition. The well-cast bronze mounts all present. The expected lifting to portions of the boullework throughout with some pieces loose but present, but not totally complete. Some scattered losses to the tortoiseshell as well. Shrinkage cracks present on the left and right side of case foot with some separation on the right side. The enamel dial presents well and the workings appear complete with pendulum, bell, case key and winding key present.
