Italian Polychrome, Parcel-Gilt and Marble-Top Console Table, late 18th century, in the rococo taste, the shaped marble top above a conforming paneled and scroll-carved frieze centered by a shell-form shield, and raised on shaped foliate-carved legs joined by a like stretcher and ending in ball-and-claw feet, h. 32-1/2", w. 32-1/2", d. 21".
- Condition: Structurally intact with a sturdy base, with original elements. No cracks or replacements. The surface, which is old but not original, with scattered minor loss and rubbing commensurate with age. The marble top, of later origin, with a long hair crack across the right front edge.
