Jacob Petit Paris Porcelain Campana-Form Urn

second quarter 19th century, French, the handles molded with classical masques and volutes terminating in griffins, the green ground decorated with raised giltwork and hand-painted with an upper panel of children gathering wood, based on Meissen's "Cries of Paris", the lower with a figure in a landscape, the base with molded shells and scrollwork, signed "J.P." in underglaze blue.

  • Condition: **In overall good condition. There is restoration to the rim, to lower masque molded portions of both handles, to the green portion of the lower portion of the top section, to the gilt conical support and to the pierced trim ring on top and on all four sides of the gilded foot portion.
