Jacob Petit Paris Porcelain Garniture Set

mid-19th century, in the Rococo Revival taste, comprised of three pierced trumpet vases, each with three side vases, decorated with encrusted flowers, on scrolled bases, signed "J.P." in underglaze blue.
h. 8-3/4" to 13-1/4", w. 5-1/4" to 8-1/2"

  • Provenance: The Collection of the Late Dr. E. Ralph Lupin, New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • Condition: **One of the smaller trumpet vases is in very good condition with no visible cracks, losses or repairs; the other one has two chips to rim, a repair to one smaller rhyton rim, and a few tiny losses to flower tips. The larger vase has condition issues: the piercework on the rim of one "eyelet" has been repaired and overpainted, and there is a professional, well-integrated repair to the rim of one of the smaller surrounding rhytons. One encrusted flower is lacking and several others have scattered nicks and losses to their tips.
