Japanese Carved Antique Ivory Group, Meiji period (1868-1912), depicting the seven lucky gods, left to right, Bishamon, Benzaiten, Hotei, Jurojin, Ebisu, Fukurokuju, and Daikoku, the tallest, h. 10-7/8", gilded with black and red ink accents, the underside of each is marked, with a tiered wooden stand, h. 5-1/2", l. 36".


  • Condition: Rubbing to gilt and pigment on all figures and scattered light scratches and abraisions to the surfaces of each tiled figure. The figure of Daikoku has had one leg glued. This repair is only visible upon very close inspection. Some light wear to stand. All wear is commensurate with age, material and display.
