Korean Metal-Mounted Elmwood Tansu Chest, 19th century, the highly figured elmwood case with dramatic metal mounts, the double cabinet doors over one short drawer, all resting on scroll-decorated rails, h. 30-5/8", w. 35-5/8", d. 17-1/8".
- Condition: In good overall conditon, exhibiting normal sthrinkage wear and abrasions consistent with age and use. The top has some old cracklked filler, probably by shellac sticks. Tight and stable. The doors open to a large well, lined with paper. Some losses to the paper lining. NOTE: The drawer face on the facade is a faux drawer.
