KPM-Style Plaque of "A Poulterer's Shop", after Gerrit Dou (Dutch, 1613-1675), depicting a richly detailed shop, a customer grasping a pail and the proprietor holding up a rabbit for inspection, with handwritten inscription on the back of the plaque and the back of the frame, plaque, h. 7-3/4", w. 10-1/4", overall, h. 14-1/2", w. 12-1/4".


  • Condition: The plaque does not exhibit any cracks, breaks or notable abrasions on either the front or back side. The frame is in good shape but for the losses to the raised gilt lines and beads along the perimeter edge, including the loss of about 2/3 of that material from one side (losses visible in the catalogue photo).
