Large Austro-Hungarian Jugendstil Silverplate Centerpiece
first quarter 20th century, by Moritz Hacker, Vienna & Budapest, in the form of a ship with maiden's bust bow and dolphin's head rudder, with gilt sail and rigging, piloted by a searching maiden across a stormy sea, decorated with whiplash lines and bulrushes.

Condition: **A seam to the left of the right foot and a seam in the recessed waves on the rear have been re-soldered from underneath. The brass flag has also been secured with a little soldering. The front anthemion roundel has a small dent; the rear one is lacking its bottom tip. There are three pinhead-sized dents to the front hull and keel, and some wear/rubbing to the face of the maiden at the helm. There are two small shallow depressions in the brass sail and the brass roping on the rear side of the deck is detached.
