Large Thai Silver Repousse Figure of Buddha

Ayutthaya period, fourth quarter 19th century, the worked silver sectional sheets modeled to depict a figure standing in samabhanga, with both hands raised, palms facing outward, wearing traditional robes, the whole mounted on custom plinth base.

  • Condition: **In overall good condition. Both arms have been repaired at the elbow/seams with visible cracks and separation. The right foot has been repaired. There is a small crack to the silver on the back of the head, and there are two small chips to the right foot and ankle. The self-base has scattered nicks to its edges and there is a chip to the right corner of the pedestal.
