third quarter 19th century, with a finger-molded, rocaille-carved surround, the crest decorated with a pierced ornament, flanked by scrollwork and flowerheads, on scrolled feet.

  • Condition: **In overall very good condition, with normal shrinkage and rubbing and wear to the gilt.

    There is a gilt chip/loss along the top of the frame about 1" long by 1/2" wide. There is some scattered inpainting to the gilt. Rubbing to scroll tips at bottom of mirror plate.

    The mirror plate exhibits extensive "spidering" to the silvering, as indicated in the catalogue photo.
