Louis XV-Style Fruitwood Fauteuil, late 18th century, the padded shaped back surmounted by a floral crest and joined by padded scrolling acanthine-carved arms to the shaped padded seat, raised on molded cabriole legs headed by foliate carving and ending in scrolled toes, upholstered in needlepoint and petit point in geometric, figural and avian patterns, h. 35-1/4".


  • Condition: In overall very good condition. Exhibiting normal rubbing, shrinkage, wear and indications of age and use, most notably finish loses to the edges of the legs. Tight and solid. No visible breaks to legs or arms. Upholstery in good condition. NOTE: May be of 19th-century manufacture. Additional measurements: Overall width at widest point: 27-1/4". Width of seat between arm supports: 23-1/2". Overall depth: 25". Depth of seat from front of back to front edge of apron: 20-1/2".
