Transitional Louis XV-into-Louis XVI Kingwood and Fruitwood Commode, late 18th century, the canted rectangular top banded and with chevron veneers and panels, above a conforming case fitted with two drawers, each inset with three veneer panels, raised on cabriole legs ending in sabots, h. 30", w. 24-1/2", d. 16".
- Condition: In overall good condition. There are surface scuffs to the top from use. Shrinkage and small losses to the drawer divider and the legs. Some old veneer patches to the apron. Small areas of filler to the leg fronts. Shrinkage and minor stress marks to the sides. Old finish with a good patina. There is no key.
