Louis XVI Boulle Bracket Clock, fourth quarter 18th century, of inverted pear form, the case decorated with boulle work and trimmed with gilt-bronze mounts of scroll- and rocaille work, the bronze dial with enamel inserts, signed "Courvoisier, Paris", now set with contemporary electric works, the bronze door decorated with two cupids drinking from cups, a brass-inlaid checked floor behind the door, and the rear door inlaid with scrollwork, h. 29", w. 14-3/4", d. 6".

  • Condition: All bronze mounts in good condition. Enamel nameplate with tight haircrack. Scattered haircracks and tiny losses among all the numerals. While all brass inlay appears to be present, a few minor bits have lifted. There is significant loss to the tortoiseshell background throughout the clock, visible only on close inspection.
