Louis XVI-Style Carved and Painted Trumeau Mirror, ca. 1900, with an egg-and-dart-carved mirror surround, the carved swags of flowers draping over the mirror, the upper table decorated with a quiver of arrows crossed with a cornucopia of flowers, against a ground of bas-relief laurel sprigs, h. 66-1/2", w. 39".

  • Condition: In overall good condition. The painted surface exhibits some modest rubbing. The piece has normal minor mars, shrinkage and indications of age and use, including some small chips and flakes to the edges of carved surfaces, most notably a number of delicate petals on floral carving, not noticeable except on close inspection. The mirror plate exhibits a few small losses (about nickel size) to the silvering. The upper about third of the plate has some occlusions and dark areas.
